Well, with yet another romping victory for the Springboks, one wonders how Bafana Bafana are feeling?
I would hope that they are happy to be left out of the media spotlight for now, while they get on in earnest with preparations for the qualifiers, which are just a formality for them, and then the actual Championship itself.
It is not a fair comparison really as soccer (or Football as they call it in Europe) is a northern hemisphere sport where team work and sportmanship are put above personal glory when representing your nation. Something the african nations are still learning...
They certainly have big boots to fill and I look forward to see how they face up to the challenge. There is no reason, apart from the usual political interference and skullduggery that is, that prevents them from rising to the occassion... ... what is the magic x-factor that allows the Springboks to achieve, why should Bafana be any different? Is it just simply down to team work and sportmanship? Is it the management? Maybe it is the name that creates the magical ingredient?
I personally believe this will be one of the more 'entertaining and colourful' World Cup Championships!
